Travel & Accommodation

Dadlington is a small village, with a population of around three hundred, situated in west Leicestershire in the English Midlands, between the towns of Hinckley (3 miles), Market Bosworth (4 miles) and Nuneaton (5 miles). It is within the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth and is grouped in a civil parish with Shenton and Sutton Cheney. Dadlington incorporates part of the once open plain - the Redemore - upon which, on 22nd August 1485, the Battle of Bosworth Field was fought.

There are railway stations at Hinckley and Nuneaton, both linked to Birmingham and Leicester and the latter on the East coast mainline, just over an hour's journey from London Euston. From Hinckley and Nuneaton there are infrequent bus services. The village is well situated for the M1, M6 and M69 motorways. Birmingham is 20 miles to the east, Coventry 11 miles, and Leicester 14 miles to the west, and the road network locally is generally good. For air travellers, the East Midlands Airport at Castle Donington lies a 30 minute drive to the north, whilst Birmingham International is only 25 miles away.

At Ambion Court Hotel, in converted farm buildings on the Green, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation is available. A varied traditional English menu is available daily at the Dog and Hedgehog, next to St. James' church, from the garden of which are extensive views over the surrounding countryside.
